A TRD Sport version with Bilstein suspension and stabilizer bars is added this year to certain versions of the Tundra. 20-inch rims, a unique grille, an air intake in the hood and TRD logos here and there also help differentiate this more aggressive version. Two V8 engines – a 4.6L and a 5.7L developing 310 and 381 horsepower respectively – are available. The maximum towing capacity is 4535 kilograms (10,000 pounds).
Pros
- Renowned reliability
- Powerful, smooth V8
- Solid off road (TRD Pro)
- Immense central console
- Good towing capacity (5.7-litre)
Cons
- Lacks technological refinement
- 5.7L engine is a real glutton
- Steering doesn't offer much feedback
- Jumpy rear suspension
- 4.6L V8 is not particularly interesting
