Volvo’s flagship vehicle, the S80, is undergoing several cosmetic changes for 2014. The front and tail ends have been softened while the headlights and taillights demonstrate a new visual identity. The base version of the S80 is propelled by a 3.2L six-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine and front-wheel drive, while the T6 inherits a turbo and all-wheel drive. It comes with a glut of accident prevention systems, including the pedestrian detection system with automatic braking.
Pros
- Captivating performances (T6)
- Extremely safe
- Carefully planned starting price
- Comfortable seats
Cons
- Not prestigious
- Updates too subtle
- Front-wheel drive only (3.2)
- High fuel consumption
