Details | THE REAR AXLE TRACK BRACKET MAY SEPARATE FROM THE FRAME DUE TO MISSING WELDS OR A WELD PATTERN THAT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE DESIGN OF THE BRACKET. ALSO, THE REAR AXLE LOWER CONTROL ARM BRACKET MAY SEPARATE DUE TO INADEQUATE WELD PENETRATION. IF EITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS OCCURS THE VEHICLE CAN BE EASILY CONTROLLED AND BROUGHT TO A STOP. HOWEVER, IF BOTH BRACKETS WERE TO SEPARATE, THE REAR AXLE WOULD BE FREE TO MOVE LATERALLY UNTIL THE TIRES CONTACT EITHER THE FRAME OR WHEELHOUSE. THIS COULD RESULT IN EITHER TIRE DAMAGE OR A SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN VEHICLE HANDLING PERFORMANCE. CORRECTION: A TRACK BAR BRACKET REINFORCEMENT KIT WILL BE INSTALLED AND THE AXLE TUBES WILL BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF NECESSARY. |
