| Details | On certain vehicles, a temporary loss of communication through the Control Area Network (CAN) between the passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) and Restraints Control Module (RCM) may cause the passenger airbag to be disabled. Should this occur, the airbag warning lamp will illuminate on the instrument cluster. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a vehicle crash (where it is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury or death to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the RCM with updated software. |
