Details | On certain vehicles, a defect in the ignition switch could allow the switch to move out of the "run" position if the key ring is carrying added weight or the driver unintentionally bumps the ignition key with their knee. An unintended change in ignition switch position while driving may result in loss of engine power, power steering, and braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash and disabling one or more of the vehicle’s safety features including the frontal airbags. Correction: To be determined. Important note: Until the correction is performed, drivers should adjust their seat to allow clearance between their knee and the ignition key, and remove all items from the key ring. |
