Details

Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 114 - Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention.

On vehicles equipped with a mechanical ignition key and dual screen cluster, 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, the body control module could allow the key to be removed when the transmission is not in park, contrary to the requirements of the standard.

This could result in a rollaway event if the vehicle was left unattended with the vehicle not in Park and the parking brake not applied, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.

Correction: Dealers will reprogram the instrument cluster.
