Details | On certain vehicles, use of the front wipers on a dry windshield surface could cause an accumulation of static electricity, which could discharge and damage the Body Control Module (BCM) and potentially render the front windshield wiper driver inoperable. A loss of the front windshield wipers may limit the driver’s visibility under certain operating conditions which may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will add a ground strap from the vehicle body to the front wiper support bracket to protect the BCM from the effects of electro static discharge. |
