Details | On certain vehicles, the Body Control Module (BCM) wire harness near the foot-operated parking brake may be missing tie-straps that maintain the harness routing. As a result, the wiring could become damaged if were to contact the parking brake assembly, potentially disabling the knee airbag. Failure of the knee airbag to deploy when warranted could increase the risk of injury to the driver in a frontal crash. Correction: Dealers are to add tie straps to secure the BCM wire harness away from the foot-operated parking brake, and a second tie strap to secure the knee-airbag wire harness to the BCM harness. |
