Details | Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 126 - Electronic Stability Control Systems. Certain brake Hydraulic Control Units (HCU) may contain metallic debris, which could reduce pump performance and affect Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and may cause the system fail to meet the requirements of the standard. If metallic debris is present, particles may block a pressure valve in the HCU during operation. This could result in a driver experiencing degraded performance of the ESC and related brake systems without warning, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove and replace the brake HCU. |
