Details | On certain vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, a software issue could cause the fuel gauge to display a low fuel level and turn on the low fuel light, even though the fuel tank is not nearing empty. This could cause the engine management system to wrongly shut off the engine to protect it from what it interprets as a low fuel condition. This would result in a loss of vehicle propulsion and a loss of power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the vehicle software. |
