Details | On certain Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), during auto start, the engine may experience a mis-synchronization, which could cause overheating of the catalytic converter. This could potentially lead to a vehicle fire and/or a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the power control module (PCM) software to detect and correct the engine mis-synchronization and will inspect the catalytic converter and replace it if necessary. |
