Mercedes-Benz Brakes Recall #2018725

Recall date December 20, 2018
Models affected
  • 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
Units affected 123
Details

On certain C 300 and AMG C 43 vehicles, a software problem could cause a situation where the parking brake cannot be deactivated.

In other instances, the parking brake may be deactivated by the owner, however the vehicle can only be driven without Electronic Stability Program (ESP) functionality, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

Correction: Dealers will update the ESP software.

Note: This condition could result in the illumination of the brake warning light and the appearance of a warning message on the instrument cluster.
