Details | Issue: On certain vehicles, the wiring for the steering wheel-mounted airbag could be damaged by sharp metal edges that may be present on the steering wheel core. This could disconnect the airbag, causing it not to work and turning on the airbag (SRS) warning light. This problem could also cause the airbag to deploy suddenly without a crash. Safety Risk: A driver-front airbag that does not deploy properly in a crash could increase the risk of injuries. A sudden airbag deployment when there is no crash could also create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the steering wheel wiring and install a protective cover over the steering wheel core. |
