Issue: On certain vehicles, the airbag electronic control unit could be damaged by an electrical fault.

This could cause the airbag system not to work properly in a crash.

It could also result in a deployment of the airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners without a crash.

Safety Risk: Airbags that do not work properly in a crash could create an increased risk of injury.

Airbags or seat belt pretensioners that deploy without a crash could create a risk of injury and also increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the airbag control module.

If an electrical fault is detected, the airbag control module will be replaced.
