| Details | Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.5 L engine, there may be a problem with the programming of the Powertrain Control Module. As a result, the engine could overheat. In certain cases, this could result in engine damage. Safety Risk: Overheating that causes engine damage could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the Powertrain Control Module software. |
