| Details | Issue: On certain trucks, the wiring for the steering column squib may be too short. As a result, the wiring could be damaged or separate if the steering column is fully extended. If this happens, the steering column may not collapse properly in a crash. A damaged wiring harness can cause the airbag warning light to turn on. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a power-adjustable, telescoping steering column. Safety Risk: A steering column that does not collapse properly in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the length of the steering column squib wiring harness. If the wiring harness is too short, the dealer will lengthen it. |
