Recall date May 3, 2022
Models affected
  • 2022 Tesla Model 3
Units affected 11,636
Details

Issue: On certain vehicles, during fast-charging or preparation for fast-charging, the infotainment central processing unit (CPU) may overheat.

This could cause the CPU to be slow or to restart.

As a result, the center screen display may lag or appear blank.

If this happens, the rearview camera display, windshield wiper and defroster settings, drive modes (i.e., Drive, Neutral, or Reverse), and telltales may not be available.

Safety Risk: A driver who does not have access to vehicle systems and controls could have an increased risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Tesla will email a notice to owners and provide an over-the-air firmware update to fix this problem.
