Issue: On certain vehicles, a programming error could cause the parking brake system to malfunction.

If this happens, a warning light will turn on and the message "Parking Brake Malfunction, Visit Your Dealer" will display.

Also, you may not be able to apply the parking brake, and if the vehicle isn't in park, it could roll away.

Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that moves unexpectedly could increase the risk of an injury or a crash.

Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the skid control ECU.
