BMW Seats And Restraints Recall #2023208

Recall date April 6, 2023
Models affected
  • 2023 BMW X5
Units affected 26
Details

Issue: On certain vehicles, incorrect head restraint guide sleeves may have been installed on the second-row outboard seats.

As a result, the head restraints may not lock in place and could move in a crash.

Safety Risk: Head restraints that move in a crash could increase the risk of an injury.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the second-row outboard seat head restraint guide sleeves, and replace them if necessary.

To minimize the safety risk, BMW recommends not to transport people in the second-row outboard seats until the recall repairs are completed.
