| Details | Issue: On one vehicle, the left-rear side door armrest may not have been properly attached to the door panel. As a result, the armrest could separate and be propelled towards vehicle occupants when the side airbag deploys. This problem could also cause the side airbag not to inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An armrest that is propelled towards vehicle occupants can create a risk of injury. Additionally, an airbag that doesn't inflate properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify the owner by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the left- rear side door panel. |
