Tesla Steering Recall #2025034

Recall date January 28, 2025
Models affected
  • 2023 Tesla Model 3
Units affected 38,601
Details

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause damage to the electronic power-assisted steering (EPAS) circuit board.

If this happens, there could be a loss of power steering assist when the vehicle is stopped.

Note: This problem would cause a warning message to display on the user interface.

Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort and create the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Tesla will notify affected owners by email.

Tesla has released an over-the-air software update to fix this issue.

There is no further action required if your vehicle has software release 2023.38.4 or a later release.
