Test Drive: 2015 Volvo V60 R-Design (05:33)

"Boringly boxy" practically summed up Volvo's entire product lineup for years, says Graeme Fletcher.

Boy, how times have changed.

With a new look—and plenty of power to match—the 2015 Volvo V60 R-Design takes everything Volvo wagons were known for are stands it on its head.

Add in the turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine tuned by Polestar, and the V60 R-Design puts down an impressive 325 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque.

All that is good for a spring from 0 to 100 km/h of 5.9 seconds, not bad for an icon of Swedish safety.
