Review: 2016 Volkswagen Golf R (03:33)

Aside from the Volkswagen GTI, which arguably created the hot hatch segment some 30 years ago, the Volkswagen Golf isn't exactly know for its performance prowess.

The Volkswagen Golf R, then, is almost the anti-Golf, with its 292 horsepower and all-wheel drive system making it a true performer in every sense of the word.

And now the Golf R is available yet again in Canada for 2016.

The automaker chose the race track as the perfect spot to launch the new car, and Motoring TV was on hand to take it all in.
