1992 was a big year, and not just because 'The English Patient' took the world by storm.

No, it's because that was the year that the Hummer, later dubbed the H1, was first sold on the civilian market.

Billed as the "world's most serious off-highway vehicle," the Hummer took centre stage thanks to its polarizing looks and incredible ability.
