Review: Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 (02:15)

Published on November 21, 2016 in Video Reviews by Jim Kenzie

“When Lamborghini began the development of the Huracan,” Jim Kenzie says, “a rear-wheel drive car was part of the program from the very beginning.”

And the biggest differences between the two- and four-wheel drive versions are right in the names themselves: The four-wheel drive Huracan LP 610-4, which was introduced in late 2014, and the rear-wheel drive Huracan LP 580-2.

At the Losail International Circuit in Qatar, Jim notes the biggest advantage of a rear-wheel drive car like the Huracan LP 580-2.

“The front wheels only have to steer the car, they don’t have to pull it,” he says. “This means the steering is much lighter, it’s much quicker.”

Couple that with the car’s naturally-aspirated 580-horsepower V10 engine behind the driver, and you can bet the Huracan LP 580-2 is a blast to drive on the track or the open road.

This segment appeared on Episode 15 of Motoring 2016.
