Volvo Concept Coupe to be Produced

Published on October 4, 2013 in New Models by Gilles Olivier

Unveiled at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, the Volvo Concept Coupe will become a production model – albeit in very small quantities.

With the concept, Volvo wanted to pay tribute to the Volvo P1800 of the 1960s, made famous by the TV series The Saint, led by Roger Moore aka Simon Templar who was the hero seen across the world.

This is the first concept developed around the new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA). While very elegant, it also heralds the new stylistic direction of Volvo for its upcoming models. Its interior is more luxurious and there is a large touchscreen display adaptive, connected to a high head system display.

For plug-in hybrid technology, it includes a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo and an electric motor.

The gorgeous coupe produces 400 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
