The 2015 Porsche Macan will be powered by four-cylinder engines according to Thomas Casper, powertrain writer for Autocar magazine.

During the interview, he confirmed the intention of the German manufacturer to offer two four-cylinder engines for the new Porsche Macan: one gasoline engine and one diesel.

The engines are being developed by engineers at Porsche’s Weissach facility.

Although it is not official yet, the base Porsche Macan should come powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine delivering 220 horsepower.

Porsche just unveiled the Macan to the public during the Los Angeles International Auto Show last month.
