Callaway Unveil a Less Boring Z/28

On this planet, a very particular type of person exists. One of those people who are never satisfied with the performance of their vehicle. They go to a Chevrolet Dealership, buy a Camaro Z/28 with 500 HP and 481 lb/ft of torque, and on the way home, they decide to see what the car can do. So they line up at a stoplight, rev up the engine, and as soon as the light turns green, blast off. They hit 100 kph in 4 seconds, shifting gears as fast as possible.

Second.

Third.

Fourth.

Then, as they are traveling at speeds well over the legal limit, a thought emerges: ''This car is not powerful enough.'' What can you do about that?

If this ever happened to you, Callaway may have the remedy to your woes. Adapting a performance kit already available on the Corvette Z06 (reminder: the Z/28 Camaro uses the same engine as the C6 Corvette Z06), the American tuner adds a couple of horses to the Camaro. The Camaro Callaway SC652 now pumps out, as its name implies, 652 HP and 620 lb-ft of torque! To add the equivalent of a Fiat 500 Abarth's worth of power, Callaway's engineers add an Eaton supercharger, complete with an intercooler, bigger injectors, a free-flowing air induction kit and a less restrictive exhaust. These enhancements allow the SC652 to rocket from 0-100 in 3.7 seconds, and runs a quarter mile in 11.5 seconds. Callaway wraps this package with a 3 year/58,000 km (36 000 miles) powertrain warranty, with the option to go up to 5 years/160,000 km.

If you decided that you need a Camaro Callaway SC652 while reading this article, act now. Grab your checkbook, write a check for $110,000 dollars, and call Callaway, since only 10 of these track monsters will be produced.
