Mercedes-Benz Recalls Some C-Class Models

Published on April 29, 2014 in Recalls by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

Mercedes-Benz is one of the most meticulous automakers. Their cars are made to a very high standard, and you can easily see the quality of the final product.

This is exactly why I was surprised to learn that they will recall 253,000 C-Class cars built between 2007 and 2011. All models are affected, from the C300 to the C63 AMG.

The problem is a minor one: a connector inside the taillights can corrode, causing the lights to dim or stop working completely. In an emergency, this could cause the driver behind you to not be able to brake quickly enough, causing an accident. The fix is very easy: the mechanics will simply change the connector for a new one.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the clients who are concerned will receive a letter in June, and the repair should be done in September.
