A Ford F-150 for the Kids

The all-new F-150 will very likely be loved by the adults who have the means of buying one. However, Ford, in an effort to keep its place as the number one truck manufacturer, just announced a partnership with toymaker Fisher Price to unveil a vehicle designed for a new target demographic: kids!

This Power Wheel (which, let’s face it, will probably be the coolest toy this Christmas) is shaped like Ford’s latest pickup truck. It will only be sold as a two-seater, but will come standard with a rear tailgate, an FM radio and even an auxiliary port to plug in an MP3 player.

While we don’t know if this truck will use as much aluminium as the full-size version, we do know that the Power Wheel should be able to get itself out of some swampy terrain with its Monster Traction system. The go-to toy for young Ford enthusiasts should start around $350, and be available in September.

This is the third generation of Power Wheel trucks made under license with Ford. The manufacturer has already made an 11th generation F-150, and an SVT Raptor. It is worth mentioning that there is a wide variety of ride-on electric vehicles: a Jeep Hurricane, a Cadillac Escalade fitted with a subwoofer, a Mustang Boss 302 and even a C7 Chevrolet Corvette, which is limited to a top speed of 9.2 km/h, making it the fastest Power Wheel ever made!
