More Attainable AMGs?

Published on August 26, 2014 in News by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

If you have always dreamed of owning an AMG, your dream is now easier than ever to reach, and it could get even more attainable: it would seem that the manufacturer is thinking about launching a mid-level brand that would slot in between its regular vehicles and its AMG models.

The first car to come out of this idea would be the C450 AMG. While performance numbers have not been not released, we can expect the sedan to be a little faster than the regular C-Class, but somewhat slower than the manic C63 AMG.

Mercedes-Benz is not the first to broaden its luxury vehicle offering: Audi has its S-Line models, and BMW has been selling M-Sport packages successfully for some time.

If this sub-AMG brand and the C450 AMG are well received by customers, the E-Class and CLA could follow suit.
