2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Fully Unveiled

A few hours ago, the new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG was accidentally shown ahead of its official reveal. To dissipate eventual rumors based on false information, the manufacturer just unveiled the full specifications of its newest hot-rod C-Class.

There will be two performance levels: the regular AMG and the AMG S. they will both feature the newly-designed 4-litre twin-turbo V8 already found in the Mercedes-AMG GT. In the C63 AMG, it will pump out 476 horsepower and 479 lb/ft. of torque, while the AMG S gets upgraded to 510 horsepower and 516 lb/ft. of torque. Both models will share the seven-speed transmission that was already found in the last version of the car. To send its power to the rear wheels (and to the rear wheels only; AMG decided to satisfy oversteer-loving fans by not converting the car to AWD), the ‘’regular’’ AMG comes with a mechanical limited-slip differential. On the S model, it is swapped for an electronic diff.

All this hardware gets the C63 AMG from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, and the S model is .1 second quicker to the same speed. They are both limited at 250 km/h.

An optional exhaust will ensure that this sedan will sound like a proper AMG, and optional ceramic brakes should be enough to stop the car at the end of a long straight.

AMG is proud to announce much better fuel economy than the outgoing model: on the highway, the twin-turbo V8 only sips 8.2 litres to go 100 km.

We will be able to see the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG for the first time at the Paris Auto Show on October 2nd.
