We Are Driving The Mercedes-Benz GLA This Week

Published on October 1, 2014 in Spotlight on by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

Since the launch of the Mercedes-Benz CLA (the recently released entry-level car from the manufacturer), we knew that its chassis would soon underpin a new small vehicle set to become the brand’s offering in the luxury compact SUV segment. This new vehicle is the GLA (pronounced G-L-A, not ‘’Glah’’).

Two versions are available: First of all, the GLA 250 starts at $37,200. It comes with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a 208 horsepower turbocharged inline-four. For more performance, it is possible to step up to the GLA 45 AMG, which offers 355 horsepower out of an upgraded version of the same 2-litre engine.

This week, our journalist Denis Duquet is in Vermont to try the North American version of the small SUV (you can read the first review of it here), so watch this space in the next few days to see what he thinks of Mercedes-Benz’s new offering.

Meanwhile, visit the Mercedes-Benz GLA Zone to learn more about this model.
