Ford Perfomance United

Ford is currently trying to trim down its various lineups in an effort to become more global. Since they have a presence in nearly every country, they have some cars that are available in one place but not in another, and even some vehicles that share a nameplate, but not much else (think Focus, until recently).

It’s the same thing for the performance division: depending on where you are on the globe, the powerful Fords were named SVT, RS or Ford Racing. All these divisions are now rallied together under one banner: Ford Performance. During a press conference, it was announced that the Mustang’s chief engineer has been promoted to the helm of this division.

Another piece of good news came out of said press conference: Ford’s CEO officially announced that we will get the next iteration of the Focus RS in North America.

There are also a few rumours circulating: the brand might bring a fistful of sweet vehicles to the Detroit Auto Show. Nothing has been confirmed, but we hear that the GT350R, the next F-150 Raptor and even the next Ford GT will be unveiled there.

More on this story as it unfolds.
