A Lightened Chevrolet Colorado?

The new Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon are more sensible alternatives for people who want a pickup truck but don’t need a full-size vehicle like the GMC Sierra or the Chevrolet Silverado. While it isn’t as big as the first Colorado, this new iteration will be appreciated by people who want a manoeuvrable vehicle for the city that they can still take into the woods.

But what about the people who work in said city? A van can be useful, but sometimes you need a specialized vehicle.

This is why Chevrolet just launched the ZW9 group package, which removes the truck’s rear bed altogether. Available only on the 2WD Colorado with an extended cab and the V6 engine, this option deducts $330 from your truck’s total invoice. You will however have to budget the extra cost of fitting a bespoke bed to your Colorado.

Or, you might just drive around as-is, but we recommend budgeting for tires; the combination of 300 horsepower, rear-wheel drive and no weight on the back axle means it will chirp the tires as soon as you step on the throttle.
