The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Will… Almost Be In Shanghai
German manufacturers are closely following each other; as soon as one gets into a segment, the others are quick to offer a competitor.
For example, BMW recently announced a less practical version of its X3 SUV, the X4. This vehicle is aimed at those who want the high-riding position of an SUV, but the looks of a sport sedan.
Mercedes-Benz was not content leaving its long-time rival alone in a niche market. After announcing that their GLE would have a stylish variant named the GLE Coupe (even if it’s a four-door SUV, and therefore NOT a coupe), it seems that their smaller SUV could receive the same treatment: we will see the upcoming GLC Coupe at the Shanghai auto show next week.
There’s a catch, however; the manufacturer announced that the vehicle shown in their booth will not be the production model, but a near-production design study. In short, we can expect the shape to be roughly similar to the finished product, however the concept will likely feature huge wheels, weird mirrors and no door handles.
We will catch our first glimpse of the vehicle at the Shanghai auto show.
