Maserati’s SUV Could Happen In Detroit
We already knew that Maserati was working on an SUV (The Kubang Concept was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011, and gave us an indication of what the vehicle could look like) but we had no idea when it would actually be unveiled or put into production.
According to rumours, it seems that the SUV is on its way; we might see the production version at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show in 2016.

We don’t know exactly what to expect yet, but we know that the upcoming SUV –which will bear the Levante moniker– will be entirely built by Maserati (despite the fact that FCA now owns the brand, it won’t be based on any Jeep)… except for the V8 engine, which will come from Ferrari.
Entry-level versions will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 developing around 350 horsepower while the aforementioned V8 will have around 530 horsepower to play with. Diesel engines will be offered, and we can expect an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
