Your 2016 Ford F-150 Can Backup A Trailer By Itself

The most stressful part of pulling a trailer is when you have to back it into a tight space. While those with lots of experience won’t balk at the task, most people will have to start over a few times to get it perfect, which can increase their stress level and take lots of time.

In an effort to help these drivers, Ford announced a neat gadget. Instead of having to calculate which direction you need to turn the steering wheel for the trailer to go left (is it left or right?) you can simply activate the system and then turn a knob located under the drive selector to guide your load; the electric steering system then controls the combination by itself! The truck’s speed is also limited, which means that those backing a boat into the lake won’t end up having to fish their F-150 out of said body of water.

This new technology will come as a blessing for those with limited towing experience. For you old-school truckers, you can still order an F-150 without the system, or just have it in your truck and not use it.
