There Will Be A Hybrid Ford F-150

During a radio interview, Ford CEO Mark Fields answered a few questions about the future of the Dearborn brand: when asked if there was plans to make the electric car more popular (according to the host, 8,000 Fusion PHEVs were sold in the United States, compared to 630,000 F-150s!), he gave a very interesting answer: there will be a hybrid Ford F-150 in dealerships before the end of the decade.

Mr. Fields confirmed that a green F-150 was in the works; the truck will be a conventional hybrid, not a plug-in. We hear that the truck will be two-wheel drive; for now, there is no confirmation of whether or not a 4x4 version is in development, but it would make a lot of sense for northern climates.

With this new vehicle, Ford could dramatically lower its overall fleet fuel consumption.
