Here Is The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder
When Lamborghini announced that they were going to unveil something unique at the Frankfurt Motor Show (something that would change the skies forever, as per their teasers), we tried to guess what it could be.
In the end though, the result is much less flamboyant than we thought: it isn’t a supersonic plane or any kind of spaceship-inspired concept car, but rather a convertible (or Spyder, to use the manufacturer’s nomenclature) version of the Lamborghini Huracan.

Since the major difference between the Coupe and Spyder version is the roof, let’s start there: it is made of fabric and can be opened or closed by electrohydraulic motors in 17 seconds. Various colours will be available, and you will be able to retract the rear window even if the top is up.
Since the Huracan usually breathes through vents on its roof, various aerodynamic elements had to be rethought to help keep the 610-horsepower V10 fed with oxygen. There are now vents behind the passengers' heads and small winglets to channel the air at high speed.
Speaking of speed, the Huracan Spyder can get from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, hit 200 km/h in 10.2 seconds and can eventually reach a top speed of 324 km/h. Even more impressive is the monster’s relatively low fuel consumption: it can register numbers as low as 12.3 litres per 100 km (presumably on the highway).
The manufacturer announced that the car will arrive in dealerships next spring; prices should be around $280,000, if you are interested.
