Hyundai N Division's First Vehicles
We recently told you that Hyundai was on the verge of adding a sub-brand to their offering; while they only offer a few vehicles that could be called ‘’sporty’’ (like the Veloster and the Genesis), the manufacturer wants to add quite a few more under the N moniker.
The first car that will bear this new badge is, sadly, not a real car: it’s the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo, which was developed for Sony’s infamous racing game. While it was created for the digital world, the manufacturer took the time to create a life-size model that is currently on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The N 2025 has 871 virtual horsepower on tap; 670 of them are courtesy of a hydrogen powerplant, while the rest are provided by an electric motor that gets its power when the car brakes. For maximum traction, the car sports AWD.
Since the car is (virtually) made of carbon fibre, the N 2025 weighs only 972 kilos. If you want to drive it, you will have to wait until it is available in Gran Turismo 6.
The other car on display in Hyundai’s booth at the Frankfurt Motor Show was built for the real world: it’s the i20 WRC, which will race in international rallies. It’s largely different than the regular i20 (a city car somewhat similar to the Accent hatchback): it features four-wheel drive, will obviously be much more powerful and won’t be offered in any dealership.
