Nissan Teatro for Dayz: A Futuristic Cube

Nissan recently stopped selling the Cube; while the vehicle managed to attract more than a few fans, sales weren’t quite good enough to convince the manufacturer to keep on building the model.

However, its characteristic shape clearly inspired more than one futuristic concept, including the Teatro for Dayz Concept, which was just launched at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Supposedly built for the Internet generation, the nice little box on wheels is equipped with suicide doors, meaning that passengers can get inside easier. The whole interior is made of white plastic surfaces, and with a few projectors added here and there, all surfaces can be modified at will. Want a tartan seating surface? It’s as easy as finding the right image on the net and uploading it. The dashboard is also fully configurable (although we are dubious about the overall comfort of the thing). There are also no buttons; everything is controlled via voice control and hand movements (which are recognized by sensors).

According to Nissan, the new generation of car buyers aren’t as receptive to old values; they want more connected vehicles so they can share their experience with others.
