2016 Honda Civic Coupe Unveiled In Los Angeles

While the 2016 Honda Civic sedan was launched first – and presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show – the very first version of the new Civic we saw was a coupe: the bright green concept we saw for the first time in New York earlier this year had only two doors.

The production version was just unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Just like before, the car shares its underpinnings with the four-door variant, but it still has its own personality.

First of all, the 2016 Civic Coupe is more spacious than ever. Compared to the last generation, it has 238 litres of additional interior room and 12 centimetres of extra legroom for the rear passengers.

Visually, you can recognize the Civic Coupe by its stylish rear end and its C-shaped taillights.

Engine-wise, the selection is the same as the sedan: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque is standard, and a turbocharged 1.5-litre is optional, pumping out 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. A manual transmission is standard on the 2.0-litre, and we can imagine that the turbo engine will get one soon.
