Thanks To Jaguar Land Rover, You Won't Lose Anything Ever Again

Jaguar Land Rover just became the first manufacturer to offer the Tile tracking system in their vehicles. This means you won’t lose stuff ever again!

The Anglo-Indian manufacturer wants to ensure their clients—those who ordered the InControl Touch infotainment system, that is—won’t ever leave their important belongings behind. The app detects every object fitted with the Tile system and will tell you if you are about to leave without it.

This will actually save you time; Tile cites an English study that says the average person spends around 15 minutes every day looking for lost objects.
Peter Virk, Director of Connected Technologies & Apps, Jaguar Land Rover said "Losing your wallet or leaving your child's sports bag behind isn't just an inconvenience. The realization you've misplaced something important can be a cause of distraction. Our unique partnership with Tile means customers can check the status of tagged items using the vehicle's touchscreen so forgotten items will be a thing of the past."

So what is Tile?

This new technology works by tracking small devices on objects you don’t want to lose. You can affix said device onto pretty much anything, including your bike, keychain or even a suitcase. Working via Bluetooth, the device connects to the car’s app or even your phone at distances of up to 100 feet (30.4 metres). If you can’t find your phone, you can simply push on the Tile device and it will make your phone beep. The devices retail for $25 each and are available on the company’s website.
