The Ford GT's Production will be Extended

Published on August 18, 2016 in News by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

The initial plan for Ford was to build its GT supercar for only one year. However, the response from enthusiastic owners was unbelievable: thousands of people that previously owned a GT, celebrities and rich collectors all wanted the new supercar. With only 250 units planned, the manufacturer couldn’t keep up with demand.

This is why Ford decided to extend the production of its supercar by two more years.

To make sure the car will remain exclusive, production will be limited to 250 units per year. The production of 2017 will be for those that were put on the waiting list, but 2018’s final series will be open to everyone. At that point, the hype for this vehicle should have died off, so this could be an opportunity for those with the means, but not the status, to get their hands on a Ford GT.
