A Prototype of the Honda Civic Type R in Paris

Published on October 3, 2016 in Paris by Marc-André Gauthier

Dear readers, the wait is finally drawing to a close.

We saw a prototype of the new Honda Civic Type R at the Paris Auto Show, but we have little to no information about it.

We know the car will be front-wheel drive and, according to rumours, should have no less than 340 horsepower coming from a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

But just look at it! The car is more than aggressive, it's downright brutal. The production version might be more civilized, but it will still be pretty violent. Honda wants to get back into the high-performance market, since they haven't produced a high-powered hatchback for a while now. Furthermore, several other automakers are trying to get back into this segment.

So long story short, we can't wait to get behind the wheel of this Civic.

Because yes, the car will arrive in North America shortly. Now, we just need a Toyota Corolla Sport and a Mazdaspeed3, and we can finally relive the days of the Japanese Sport Compact wars!
