Porsche Unveils the 2017 Panamera Executive
LOS ANGELES, California –It’s been quite a week for the Stuttgart-based automaker. First they officially opened the Porsche Experience Center in Carson, just outside of Los Angeles. This new complex is open to the public and gives people the chance to experience the brand’s models on a closed circuit. It’s also the headquarters of Porsche Motorsport North America.
And then of course, the Los Angeles Auto Show is also on this week. Porsche seized the opportunity to introduce its new Panamera 4 equipped with a new turbocharged V6 and the new Executive version of its mighty sedan.
The new turbo V6 delivers 330 horsepower, which is 20 more than the previous-generation version with all-wheel drive. Its stated goal is not just to offer more power, but also to slash fuel consumption. Porsche’s figures are pointing to an approximate decrease of about 1 litre per 100 kilometres.
However, the stretched Executive is what really got us journalists excited. It’s 150 mm longer than the regular version, and it comes with more equipment. This configuration can accommodate your personal chauffeur and comes as the Panamera 4, Panamera E-Hybrid, Panamera 4S or Panamera Turbo. The lineup is now complete.
What additional equipment is included in the stretched versions? There are heated rear seats with tons of electric adjustments, an adaptive air suspension, Porsche Active Suspension Management, rear-seat sunshades, ambient lighting, automatically closing rear doors, a work table and large centre console in back. And that’s just some of the extras that come on these presidential versions. Obviously, not all models come with the same accessories.
If you’re keen on this new configuration of the Panamera, be prepared to pay. The Panamera 4 with the turbo V6 will set you back $102,500. The stretched version goes for $110,200. Of course, the other Executive models cost even more.
