2018 Jaguar E-PACE Officially Unveiled
English brand Jaguar has released a slew of details and pictures of its newest model, and second SUV in its line-up. The E-PACE will take on the likes of the Audi Q3, the BMW X1, the Infiniti QX30 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA growing subcompact luxury utility segment.
The 2018 Jaguar E-PACE will be available with two versions of the company’s Ingenium turbocharged, 2.0-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine. The first will produce 246 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, and will equip base, S and SE trim levels. According to Jaguar, the 0-to-100 km/h sprint is cleared in 7.0 seconds.

The second, found under the hood of the E-PACE R-Dynamic S, SE and HSE variants, will boast 296 hp and 295 lb.-ft., reducing the 0-100 km/h time to 6.4 seconds. In its first year of production, the five-passenger SUV will also be sold in a First Edition trim, which will get the 246-hp engine. A Configurable Dynamics package with selectable drive modes will be optional, as will an Adaptive Dynamics system that features continuously variable dampers for enhanced handling characteristics.
The 2018 Jaguar E-PACE shares many styling cues with its bigger brother F-PACE, but in a smaller-scale, stubbier size. A body-colour roof is standard, while a black roof or fixed panoramic roof will be available. Eleven paint colours will be offered at launch, as are alloy wheels ranging up to 21 inches in size. The R-Dynamic versions will get a sportier front bumper and satin chrome detailing.
Inside, the E-PACE will offer metal-finish trimmings instead of traditional wood veneers, while a Touch Pro infotainment system with 10-inch touchscreen will be standard fare. A 12.3-inch digital driver instrument panel, colour head-up display, ambient lighting as well as a 15-speaker, 825-watt Meridian sound system will be optional. The R-Dynamic variants will offer a wider selection of seat upholstery colours with contrast stitching.
The First Edition version will boast black Windsor leather upholstery with red stitching and a black suede-like headliner, gloss-black exterior detailing and unique 20-inch, satin grey wheels. Three paint colours will available, including Yulong White, Santorini Black and—exclusive to the First Edition—Caldera Red.
Cargo space is rated at 685 litres with the rear seatbacks in place and 1493 litres with the seats folded down.
The 2018 Jaguar E-PACE will be on sale early next year, and pricing has been announced as followed, freight and delivery charges excluded.
