An Update for the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43

The popular Mercedes-Benz C-Class will receive some changes for the 2019 model year, the current generation being on the market since 2015. The manufacturer notably announced details regarding the Mercedes-AMG C 43, which will be available in sedan and wagon body styles in Canada.

First of all, its twin-turbo, 3.0-litre V6 will see its output rise from 362 to 385 horsepower, while torque will remain unchanged at 384 pound-feet. This engine will still be connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. According to Mercedes, the C 43 will be able to blast from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds (4.8 for the wagon).

From a styling standpoint, the C 43 will borrow the C 63’s grille, with its silver twin-louvre design, while the air intakes on the front bumper will be revised as well. The rear bumper diffuser will now house round tailpipes. The look will be completed with a new 18-inch alloy wheel design.

The cockpit mixes several rich materials such as ARTICO simulated leather, DINAMICA microfiber and aluminum, while AMG performance seats, designo leather upholstery, wood accenting and carbon fibre trim will still be available on option. Unfortunately, the 2019 C-Class doesn’t seem to adopt the new MBUX infotainment system, unveiled earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, and that will be installed in the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

Pricing for the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43 has not yet been announced for Canada, but the sedan and wagon will be on sale at the end of 2018.
