New Features for the 2019 Mazda CX-9

Mazda is playing catch-up with its midsize SUV by introducing some comfort and convenience features for the 2019 model year.

First and foremost, the 2019 Mazda CX-9 finally gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, now standard in every trim level. Meanwhile, the CX-9 GT trim adds a 360-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, a configurable seven-inch driver information display as well as a five-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel Link services.

All trim levels also obtain a reconfigured suspension that is said to provide a quieter and smoother ride, while extra sound deadening with the use thicker headliner and floor mats. As before, the CX-9 is equipped with a turbocharged, 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 227 horsepower (250 with super unleaded) and 310 pound-feet of torque. It’s connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel drivetrain in the base GS trim. All-wheel drive is optional in the GS, standard in the rest of the lineup.
